How do you observe electricity? How do you show light as a wave? Using PhET simulations, students can see the abstract and the microscopic, watching light rays bend & electrons flow. With Physics4All labs students can independently explore these phenomena. These 5th-12th labs increase engagement, prime students for abstract concepts, and introduce mathematical relationships—all while prep free for teachers.
Physics4all labs boost mathematical reasoning and confidence. In each lab, students collect data, analyze patterns, and find direct or indirect relationships. Students practice forming equations, based on dependent and independent variables. For example, students create Ohm’s Law (I= V/R), after finding direct linear relationship between voltage (batteries) and current (brightness). (see to right)
Vocabulary:
Students, especially English Language Learners, retain science vocabulary best when given context. Physics4All labs use PhET simulations, such as the “Build a Circuit”, for real world scenarios, in order for students to develop greater understanding of new phenomena such as current.
